Cheetahs and other predators in general help their environment better than any attempts made by humankind. What exactly do they do. It's simple. They move herds such as Wildeneests, African Buffalos, and Zebras across the plains of Africa. In so doing several things happen. The grass eaters are, therefore, unable to overgraze. They're also fertilizing the lands too -- need I say, they poop? The hoof prints marking where they've been, are small reservoirs for the coming rains. These reservoirs are expanded by termites that move into these hoof prints to create their underground homes increasing the containment of rainwater (this done my ants elsewhere). The result is the continuation of lush fertile grazing lands for the next generation of herd animals. Isn't nature wonderful. The use of these observations are now utilized in Wyoming, only cowboys on horseback act as the predators.
