For animals needing a large range, habitat loss would be a factor in the Cheetah losing its footing for survival. However, the Cheetah has a more serious problem than other big cats. Having survived two prior extinction episodes, the Cheetah's variability of the Genetic Gene Pool has been diminished such that all offspring are either dead or deformed. Unless there's a miracle, the likelihood of Cheetahs surviving this 6th extinction we are experiencing now is nill.
