As you know, the name of my store is Earth and World Peace.  I bring this up because this design speaks to my spiritual path. As such, I am going to talk about my practice as it is who I am and my site is embedded in my practice. I am a SGI Nichiren Buddhist, and we work for world peace. We practice daily to raise our life condition knowing that we can achieve enlightenment in this lifetime. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is the name of The Lotus Sutra, the last and essential teaching of Buddhism by Shakyamuni Buddha. Daimoku is Nam (Namu) Myoho Renge Kyo meaning taking refuge or devotion (Nam) in the Mystic Law (Myoho) of Cause and Effect (Lotus or Renge) using the voices carrying out the work of the Buddha (Kyo). The Lotus flower is a metaphor for cause and effect as it is the only flower that blooms and fruits at the same time. The Lotus also represents the path we take from a suffering world (muddy environment) to enlightenment: the lotus seeking the light and blooms without a speck of dirt on its petals: pristine and pure. Knowing the truth about life and all phenomena (Dictionary of Buddhism p 424-5) It is a state without suffering despite what is going on in one's life. Myo is Dharma nature, or enlightenment, while ho means darkness and ignorance. (Dictionary of Buddhism p 425). Together, myoho represents our battle between our dharma nature with the dark side of our nature. Winning is achieving enlightenment. Enlightened beings as do all sentient, embody the ten life states or worlds, though they dwell primarily in the highest state, Budhahood. Winning also means that we flip the lower world's coins. For example, Instead of being hungry for attention, controlled by the world of hunger (wanting, never enough), we now become hungry to lend a hand to others.
